Mission of GCC

To provide exposure, resources, and support to the UC Davis undergraduate community regarding continuing education and careers in Genetic Counseling.

General meetings

speaker events

There will be three general meetings every quarter. At the beginning of each quarter, students have the opportunity to vote on pre-selected topics that they would like to hear about. The board will put together a presentation and provide the members with various resources on the specific topic.

Workshops

Club members can participate in workshops to strengthen their interpersonal communication skills, receive feedback on grad school applications, practice their interviewing skills and much more.
We will have at least two guest speaker events per quarter. The potential speakers could be licensed genetic counselors, current genetic counseling students, and medical geneticists. Each speaker will present a different topic that students may be interested in.

Special Events

We will be setting up events like volunteering with organizations, tours of labs and journal club. Each month, we will be fundraising for an organization that focuses on a specific genetic disorder and if interested, club members will have the chance to volunteer.
